Hiring Refugees

Meet our employment team:

  • Ryan Hite, Job Developer
  • Becky Burnside, Job Developer
  • Gail Dupre, Job Developer

We helped our clients find 476 jobs for fiscal year 2006. The jobs found ranged from housekeeper to engineer technician. We will assess the needs of employers, thoroughly research our database and find candidates with the appropriate qualifications.

All of our clients attend work orientation every other Tuesday. Work orientation is a class that introduces the clients to American workplace. We introduce to them topics, including filling out job applications, preparing a resume, interviewing skills, taxes, rights as an employee, job search and more. We invite businesses to come out to the orientation and talk to our clients about their company. If you are an employer interested at speaking at one of our orientations please contact us.

Tax Benefits

Work Opportunity Tax Credit
The WOTC program is administered by the Office of Employment and Training. This program provides Federal tax credits to encourage employers to hire job seekers with barriers to employment from eight targeted groups. Those eligible for the WOTC program include certain welfare, food stamp, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients; young people who live in federally-designated empowerment zones, enterprise communities and renewal communities and others. The amount of the tax credit varies depending upon wages paid to and the number of hours worked by the eligible employee.
