Teacher Assistant (Education Tutor) for English Language School

Volunteers are needed to be tutors to adult refugee clients at our English Language School that is under a special partnership with Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) Adult & Continuing Education. Tutors (teacher assistants) will assist ESL teachers in the areas of Reading GED Preparation, and various other cultural orientation lessons.

Requirements: Minimum of High School Diploma or GED. Criminal Background Check, completion of two special training sessions (mandatory orientation and instructional training workshop) and a commitment to tutor one class per week (2.5 hrs).
